Martin Fowler's "Refactoring" gives some very good ideas.
Another useful technique is "Mock objects". Articles are:

MS VS 2005 now has own unit testing tool.

Просрал проект в Крайслере - это два (искать документ "Extreme Programming considered harmful").
Пишет в попсовом маркетинговом стиле и позволяет себе сомнительные утверждения - три.
